Ms. Marvel NYC
After I pitched and produced a story about Kamala Khan, a super hero who debuted in Marvel series, ‘Ms. Marvel No Normal’ the graphic novel for CBS News – I decided to take it a step further. I related very much to her character and I wanted to share her story in the film space. I made a Youtube channel, I read the book and adapted our narrative into a screenplay. I’ve been developing the series with more creative and diverse perspectives since 2018.
In my next short film, I’m creating a storyline to bridge her comic with more of the marvel stories like X-MEN as well as my own. I’m excited to move away from their popular narrative of side-kick who praises Captain Marvel to the lead who accepts and embraces her own beauty, kick-butt qualities and uniqueness.
